Meet Dr. Trisha Bailey: A Woman of Color Entrepreneur Who Overcame Poverty and Bootstrapped Her Way to Success

It is possible for women of color entrepreneurs to own and operate multiple successful businesses at the same time. With nearly two decades of business experience, Dr. Trisha Bailey owns and operates thriving businesses in the medical equipment/supplies, pharmacy and commercial real estate industries. 

It’s worth noting that Dr. Bailey wasn’t born with a silver spoon in her mouth. In fact, this Jamaican-born business mogul grew up in poverty. But she overcame it by graduating college and earning a master’s degree as well as a doctorate. From there, she started her first business and the rest was history.

Recently, Dr. Bailey made history by making the largest athletic donation in the history of the University of Connecticut, her alma mater. She has also provided scholarships for more than 100 students to attend college.
